To brew Saranac Single Malt we use 100% Scottish Otter Malt, traditionally used in the distilling industry. The combination of the Scottish malts and slow aging process produces a unique brew as distinctive as single malt whiskey with a subtly different flavor than any other beer. Look for a sweet malty taste with a background of floral notes from English Fuggle Hops. Limited Release!

Not what I expected from a quality brewer like Saranac. Perhaps I was expecting a more scotch ale quality, but I just didn't think it tasted very good.

Sad to say that this is not great, even tough it is a scottish ale, which I hold dearly. It didn't have a full enough flavor, It was missing the robust taste that is a staple with scotts. Needs to be darker and deep to get my vote.

Clear amber color with medium but quick diminishing head. Caramel and malt are the most predominant aromas. The taste is sweet malt and a light bitter/sour finish. No real carbonation to speak of.

not a bad try at a Scottish ale, but far from being a ale I would reccomend to anyone wanting to try a Scotch ale

This is a limited release that as far as I know you can only get in the 12 beers of Christmas sampler. Its different and worth a try

Very malty flavor. Not your typical beer.

As typlical of Saranac it is a great every day beer, but below the premium brews. If you are a fan of sinle malt give it a go! Just not my taste.

Crystal clear amber in color. Head disapeared almost instantly. I did not quite know what to make of the smell. Earthy field kind of smell. By reading the label I was expecting a very alcoholic tasting beer. Which it wasn't. Went down very easily. Will not go out and buy this specifically, but if I get more in a sampler pack, I will drink it.

The sweet Scottish malt flavors surround your tongue, followed by a touch of hops. Nice balance and a decent sparkling head. The color is a little lighter than I expected. I would recommend trying this one if you get a chance, as the bottle says "limited release"
