The Vixen is smooth and rich with an enticing touch of sweetness and ends with a spicy heat. For this unique brew we used carefully roasted malts and dark cocoa nibs for a full bodied and slightly sweet flavor. To this roast and chocolaty base we added an element or warmth and spice with cinnamon and chilies. Dark and alluring, the brew will keep you captivated. Batch #1 Style: Chili Beer Hops: Hallertau Mittelfruh Malts: Two-Row Harrington, Metacalfe, Copeland Pale, Munich, Caramel 60, Roasted Demashed Availability: 22oz bombers, Draft 8.5% ABV

Rich aroma is malty with chocolate and yeasty overtones and smoky and molasses notes. It pours a dark opaque chocolate brown with a fairly thick light tan head that leaves some good lacing. Malty flavor has chocolate, coffee and molasses notes, plus a hint of caramel and a bit of a kick from the spice - tastes more like a stout than a bock. Smooth, fizzy texture has firm body and leaves a chocolaty and sassy finish. Vixen indeed!

Sampled on 6/9/2012. This chili beer pours a dark brown color from a 22oz bottle. Small to medium sized white foamy head. The aroma is chocolate, coffee, a touch of chili and sweet. A medium bodied chili beer. The malts are chocolate, fruity and sweet. The hops are earthy and floral. Nice balanced. Good carbonation. Lots of chocolate, with a touch of chili at the finish. Just a little bit of heat. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly bitter.

Interesting beer. As far as the bock flavors, they are pretty typical, a little on the thin side. The sweetness is definitely up front with a mild spice burn at the end. They made it the way they wanted it, just not sure it's that great. A nice looking beer but just a little above average in the other catagories.

Picked this brew up for the X-mas family beer tasting and I wasn't sure how it would fare. Ended up being a pretty big hit. Flavor is both chili and chocolate on the palate right up front. Big malt flavors, earthy nose, cinnamon spice and a hint of hops round of this beer quite nicely.

A pleasant surprise. Pours dark dark with a tan head. Definitely loaded with chocolate. While there may be other flavors in there, I'm not really picking up on them.

I was a bit skeptical at first but this one turned out better than expected, the aroma starts with a nice chocolate with a touch of earth. The flavor follows the aroma with chocolate upfront with earth, and cinnamon in the back, the chilis have a very slight presence in the finish. Overall the best thing about this (for me any way) was that the chili aspect wasnt overwhelming like most chili beers,it is a complimentary flavor and not the focus.

A dark chocolate colored beer with a big frothy textured light brown head. There's good hang time on the head. It settles eventually into splotches of film and moderate sized ringlet. Lots of chocolate in this smooth, full bodied beer. Not getting the spices.

Pours a deep stained wood .. . great foam .. . not getting a lot of pepper, heat or spice.. . some molasses, light smoked pepper(but not the good smokey kind), booze, green vegetable, and cocoa .. . 8223 .. weak mouth, this is an odd cookie .. . has potential but mainly- overpriced and basically like a sticky brown bock in your underwear .. . NEEDS at least a year to be good .. . . who can it be now???

coming in 2.6% stronger than one of my favorite beers, Chocolate Bock, and it's a bit different on several levels, though there are simlarities in the chocolate flavor especially. aroma similar to the flavor but too subdued, hence the lower mark. the chili only makes an appearance (and even then it's subtle) in the finish, which is the only disappointing element of this beer. it was thicker in body, but not necessarily richer. abv not very evident, smooth body. interesting mix of chocolate, hops, cinnamon, and the kinda-there chili. i could see how it may be seen as muddled, but i dug it as a change of pace. for the price, i'd get it once or twice a year...but it poses no threat to the choc bock.
