Samuel Adams® Summer Ale is an American wheat ale. This summer seasonal uses malted wheat as well as lemon zest and grains of paradise, a rare pepper from Africa first used as a brewing spice in the 13th Century to create a crisp and spicy flavor and body. The ale fermentation imparts a background tropical fruit note reminiscent of mangos and peaches. All of these come together to create a quenching, clean finishing beer perfect for those warm Summer days.

Don't know why I never reviewed this beer. I must say, it goes well with spicy food. Pours like a typical wheat beer...a hazy yellowish-orange color and a decent little white foamy head. Aroma is not strong, but is citrus and a bit off hoppiness there too. A lil bit thin, sweet and too lemony for my personal likings, but it is drinkable. Not too many Sam Adams that I wouldn't at least try again.

Draught: Poured a straw golden color with white soft head. The aroma was sweet and fruit. The taste was also fruit, but also had a tangy bite.

12oz bottle from the state store. Pours hazy straw yellow with a medium sized white head, some lacing. Aroma of wheat, lemon and spices. Flavor is wheat, grainy, lemon rind with a bitter finish. It is a decent wheat beer with some bitterness.

35,5cl from bottle at Parkteatret. Slightly hazy golden with a white head. Wheaty aroma with yeast, fruit and a hint of citrus and spices. Sweet and mild with a slightly dry finish. Okay summer beer.

Pours a straw gold-ish color with off white head. The aroma seems sweet, wheat, hint of citrus and some assorted spice. The taste starts sweet with sugar and malt sweetness, hints of banana rolled in crushed grains, faint lemon maybe a hint of clove and nutmeg. It then ends fairly sweet.

Typical wheat beer. Hazy off yellow. Less bite than Penn weizen. Not as clean as the better european varieties. Could not detect much citrus. Very little if any lasting bitterness on the finish. Ole sammy has quite a selection!

Small white head. Hazey, orange/copper color. Wheat malt and the lemon coming through in the nose. Grainy, lemony flavors, light bodied, good carbonation. Some spiceyness, grains of paradise? Good mower brew.

Clear golden in color with a thin white head, light patchy lacing. Aroma is sweet, a little grainy, some apples, light wheat and citrus. Flavor is moderately sweet, some very light citrus hops, wheat, some metal. Sweet and a bit chemical mouth feel, light body, moderate carbonation. Finishes quick, a bit watery.

Poured this one after mowing 1acre of land on a hot florida summer day. It was cloudy gold in color. The aroma is of wheat and lemon. The mouthfeel is a little thin for my liking. The taste is of wheat and mild fruit with spice.

Pours thick with a good foam head. Smells of grain, wheat and lemons. Thick mouth feel. Tastes of wheat and lemons with grain and some corriander spice. Full finish. Kind of refreshing but way too thick for a summer ale IMHO.
