With the hot summer months and fun gatherings in mind, James brewed a refreshing wheat beer with an exotic kick. This beer is smooth and light bodied with the delicate flavors of hibiscus.

Pours a clear amber with a fluffy ivory head. Wheaty aroma has a definite fruity undertone, more pomme than citrus, and a whiff of yeast. Flavor fills the mouth with sweet malt, wheat, and fruit notes plus yeasty and floral hints. Texture is about average in fizziness and viscosity. Overall, refreshing and pleasing, great for a hot day.

First off, this beer is much better than the strawberry lager that was also part of this year's Longshot series. Deep gold pour with a thin cap of white head. Wheat, floral notes, sugary malt and a bit of yeastiness in the aroma. Taste follows aroma but with a more cracker/grain focus and a dry finish. Refreshing on a hot day.

Hmmm. interesting and refreshing. Light fruityness, slightly herbal, a touch of sweet and juuust a splash of tartness. For a lawnmower type beer, pretty nice. I'd try again.

Not feeling this one. Thinking that I liked that last Longshot hibiscus flower ale better, that came around a couple years ago. Wheats are one of my least favorite styles, but this one tastes like some corn in it. Out of all the entries for this "contest", find it hard to believe that this one made the cut.

Pours a lightly hazy deep golden color with a smallish off white head that slowly dissipates to a ring on top. Smells of sugary malts with a hint of spice and a floral component. The flavor is sweet and malty upfront with a bit of orange coming through, hints of wheat. Medium body with a moderate level of carbonation. Not too bad, a mid grade wheat with some hibiscus.
