A true amber beer from Nord. It also respects the conditions of Saveurs en or. Its slightly roasty taste is obtained using torrefied malts. As an aperitif for those who prefer an amber beer. It goes perfectly with a rabbit stew with prunes or Flemish. It will reveal all the subtleties of its aromas accompanying Minmolette or extra-old farmer Maroilles. Bottle conditioned traditional mechanical plug.

750 ml swingtop bottle, from Vinmonopolet, nettbutikken. ABV is 6.9%. Deep golden to amber colour, big to moderate white (or slightly off-white) head. Spicy and herbal aroma, hints of flowers and honey too. The flavour is fairly sweet and malty with caramel and moderate hops, hints of honey, the alcohol is noticeable. Lacks the crisp freshness of the Hildegarde Blonde.

Sampled on 9/18/2009. This Biere de Garde pours a medium orange gold color from a 7500ml fliptop. Small to medium sized white foamy head, with decent retention and nice lacing. The aroma is fruity, spicy and sweet. A medium bodied Biere de Garde. The malts are caramel, fruity and sweet. Touch of orange and pears. Hops are earthy. Nice balance. A touch sweet, but very smooth and clean tasting. A slightly dry finish that intensifies as it warms. Very pleasant beer. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean smooth and dry. Aftertaste is clean, smooth and dry. Aftertaste is slightly sweet.

Hazy amber with a large white foam. Malty aroma of caramel, roasted malts, apricots and yeast. Medium-bodied with notes of roasted malts, earth, leaves, wood, red berries and yeast. Yeasty finish of apricot.

Bottled. Amber colour with no head. Aroma is applejuice, some slight spicyness along with malts. Flavour is spiced and shows signs of alcohol. OK brew, but nothing really special. Low to non-existing carbonation.
