this version of a double ipa is thick and malty, almost to a fault. my friend and i both greatly preffered the hoppier (yet better balalnced and weaker abv Independence IIPA). Biscuity malt would be good (think Moylander) but it's a touch too much here, and doesn't allow the hops to come out enough. Still a decent beer you wouldn't regret ordering, but there's better.
