Granny Mary's is the fierce matriarch of the McGargle family, and it's said she once knocked a fly off a cows arse with half a glance. She has a temper as fiery as her malt-driven Red Ale, balanced by bitter hops that give it a well-rounded taste. Without saying a word she could make or break your day, especially if you question her unshaking belief that dolphins aren't real. Ingredients : Water, Barley & Hops. You can't choose your family, but you can choose your beer.

On tap at Deacon Brodies. Pours a good size frothy beige head and has a clear amber coppery appearance. Lacing is ok. Aromas of sweet and light roasted malts. Flavours are mostly malty, a bit of a rusty like finish. Has a bit of caramel malt and earthy hops in there as well. Average carbonation and medium retention. Not bad.

330 ml capped bottle. Poured a clear and reddish copper coloured Irish Ale with a short one finger tan foamy head that had a long retention and tons of micro bubbles. Active carbonation. Good lacing. The aroma is grainy roasted malts, bready notes, toffee, fruity, red berries. The flavour is grainy roasted malts, caramel, a nutty touch, faint herbal hops. The mouthfeel is light crispy, thin and a bit sticky. The texture is oily. This light bodied I A has a dry sweety malty finish. If easy drinkable,it's a boring Irish Ale.
