The Royston IPA affectionately known as the RIPA, is a bitter punch of hops to the mouth. Loaded with 3 pounds per barrel of Simcoe, Amarillo and Mosaic hops, at 7.5% ABV it is not for the faint hearted. The body is on the lighter side, with just enough bready malt backbone to keep the 70 IBUs in check, but it is the hops that steal the show in this one. Citrus, mandarin, pine and tropical fruits. This is not designed to be a beer for the casual IPA drinker. This takes everything that makes an IPA an IPA and pushes the envelope, blurring the lines between an IPA and an Imperial IPA. Hop heads rejoice, but if you don’t like hoppy beers, you won’t like this one.
