Color is a beautiful brownish-golden with a hint of red, not much of a head to it. Aroma is not strong, but is promising. Flavor is nice and hoppy but also has some malty undertones and some bitterness that does not carry over much into the aftertaste. If you don’t mind a fair amount of bitterness, this is a drinkable and enjoyable brew, a worthy way for Rogue to celebrate an awe-inspiring milestone.

Bottle courtesy of Sammy: Poured a deep orangey color ale with a medium size foamy head with some retention and some lacing. Aroma of floral and bitter hops is interesting. Taste is a ix between some caramel and light toffee malt with some dominating notes of floral hops and a medium-strong bitter finish. Full body with some great carbonation and no alcohol was apparent. Overall, a nicely done west coast hoppy ale.

Pours with a golden-orange body topped by a thin to medium thick head with some lacing left behind. It’s slightly sweet with underlying bitter hoppy notes with grapefruit and a hint of apricot as well as fruity alcohol esters. Medium to full bodied and hot from the alcohol.

Bottle. Poured a clear orange-brown color with a medium off-white head. Good lacing. Nice bitter aroma of malt, hops, and a slight citrus hint to it. Nice full mouthfeel. Flavor is very bitter, with a ton of pine to it. There are also caramel and citrus flavors to it. An expensive beer from Rogue, but definitely a pretty tasty beer.

From a bottle. Pours a hazy copper with a large white head. Aroma is heavy on hops, with citrus undertones. Flavor is bitter, but strong malt presense. Slight alcohol aftertaste. A good beer, but nowhere near worth $20 a bottle.

Pours an almost brilliantly clear, lightly orange tinted, pale cherry accented, copper color. It is topped by a frothy, almost one-finger thick, darkish tan colored head. The aroma definitely has some citrus notes to it as well as a sharper, more resinous character, but it also has something like water to it. I am not sure what I am saying but something reminds me of bland water, maybe it is a clean soap character. Interestingly minty, or like an exotic, woody, turpene laden spice from the Asian super market. This definitely has some malt aromatics to it, though they play a supporting role here; I get notes of caramelized sugars, brown sugar and even toffee. The most interesting part of the aroma is that sort of soapy, exotic spice, almost incense-like character.
Aggressively hopy, with a resinously herbal / pine character leading the way. Still, quite a bit of citrus flavors are found in the beer as well. Flavors of orange zest, ruby-red grapefruit, tangelo and lychee are all fairly noticeable. A rich underlying, though subtle, maltiness contributes notes of caramel, a touch of brown sugar and a chewy, Maillard driven, crusty bread flavor. That interesting, spicy, sort of incense like note from the aroma is definitely found in the flavor too; it is really most noticeable as a lingering note in the finish, though it does project its perfume-like essence throughout the flavor profile.
This beer never quite worked for me. When sampled fresh from the tap it had an aggressive green onion character to it, though this now seems to have morphed into a sort of perfume / incense / exotic Asian spice note, it still does not work. Tasty enough, but a bit too much. -

Sampled from the $20/bottle ceramic magnum bottle. Quintessential Rogue. Pours hazy copper-red with a creamy off-white head and nice lacing. Hoppy aroma with bright floral, fruit boquet. Nicely bitter with a spicy hop flavor. Good malt backbone strengthened by bready, caramelized malts. Full-bodied and agressively carbonated. Exactly what you'd expect from Rogue for a beer represenative of this, their 10,000th batch. Good, but I won't be dropping another $20 for another.

Pours a misty, orangish-copper with airy, fading head. Aroma is bright and hoppy, featuring citrus and kind of a refreshing, salty, ocean-breeze character. An ample earthy malt base meets bold citrus-floral bitterness in the flavor. Medium-to-full bodied with stimulating carbonation and notable warming affect. Fantastic celebration beer, though I'm not sure it warrants the $19.99 price tag.

3 words- malt, hops, and citrus. These 3 share an equal but potent punch in flavor profile and also lend a substantial body; not too heavy, with a good sharp carobnated nose. hop bitterness is strong, so is the malt flavor. there's no balance or off-setting- both charactreristics ar e powerful. It reminded me slightly of a barelywine. There is evedn a cidery look, feel, and taste. I'm suprised thne alcohol content wasn't higher. It had a medicinal "heat" to it- so the alcohol isn't masked. Appearance is a hazy/ slightly cloudy amber- orange. Good beer, a bit expensive though.
