Chamomellow is an herbal golden ale infused with chamomile, which provides an enticing floral aroma. Chamomile is one of the oldest garden herbs used by ancient Egyptians and other cultures to battle illness, promote calm and relieve anxiety, hence the name Chamomellow. Dedicated to Caleb McLoughlin, a revolutionary brewer who created this elixir at Rogue's Issaquah Brewhouse and won a Gold medal in the Herbs & Spice category at the 2003 Great American Beer Festival. Chamemollow is created from Northwest Harrington and Klages, and Maier Munich Malts (18% speciality grains, .19 lbs grain per bottle). Kent Golding and Cascade hops, and infused with Chamomile. Available in a limited 22-ounce bottles (TestBatch 1 - Gold Medal Series), and on draft at Rogue's five Public Houses. Measurements: 13 degrees Plato, IBU 34, Apparent Attenuation 77, Lovibond 3.20.

what a nice surprise this one was. had it at the brewery, and it was good enough that we brought home a case. very unique, tastes like a decent lighter bodied beer, and nightime tea (tons o' chamomile). I'm not sure if the body of the ale started out good, or if the spices/herbs made it that way, but it came out light bodied but incredibly smooth. recomended if they make it again. and it aged well for over a year.

HAd this one at the Brewery in Newport and was pleasantly surprised. As is chamomile a pleasant thing. A bright flavor, honey and citrus, also comforting, with warm earthy spice.... Refreshing with a sturdy quenching mouthfeel. Pale malts, a 'mellow' herbal finish adds good balance..... Flavors are matched well with the chamomile which is presented well i thought and it made for a tasty beer.

Sampled on draft at Rogue Public House, Portland. Pours slightly cloudy gold with a lasting white head and nice lacing. Aroma is mild and floral. It's flavor is herbal/medicinal with some honey. Quite spicy. Medium bodied and moderately carbonated. Too strange to be a regular drinker but worth trying.

Gotta hand it to the experimental brewery of the West Coast to come up with something like this. This stuff tastes like beer tea. Totally smooth but not too refreshing. A good late night beer.

Hazy pinkish orange color with a small off white bubbly head that quickly diminished and left very little lacing. Very fruity, bubblegum, apple juice, mint, passion and tropical fruit aroma. Honey and chamomile, spicy and herbal taste.
