Bottle. Deep dark brown in color with a nice tan head. Aroma is earthy and fruity. Fruity flavors. Lightly malty flavors. Crisp tasting. Clean finish. Dry. Drinkable.

Bottle pulled out of the cellar after a year from who knows where… at the NSSMNSLT - a "bonus" lame-o bottle thrown in the mix by me, how generous, choke, choke! Poured a light amber color, well short of copper or anything with depth. The aroma was roasty caramel. The flavor was roasty toasty caramel. Some nuts. No hops. Bitter from the roast? Wet grass also in there. A concotion that didn’t really come together well for me. Mouthfeel was way light for a BW. What can you do? Another tick tick tick. Bleh.

Bottle: Poured a deep clear amber color ale with a large foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma consists of sweet with loads of overcooked vegetables. Taste is also dominated by some overcooked vegetables with some oversweet malt. Body is really thin with some good carbonation and no apparent alcohol. I thought there was way too many brewing flaws in this beer.

Very little head. dark brown-red color. sweet, fruity, yeasty aroma. Flavor is surprisingly hoppy considering the aroma. medium-full body. not bad, decently balanced but not very complicated. Enjoyable but not something I'd go out of my way for.

Brewer said this stuff is brewed in Morrisville VT in a 7 barrel system. He thought it very important to mention to me twice, so here it is. Also fair to mention there are 6 types of malt. I know I don't care. I do know I didn't like it. Maybe use less types of malt and more quality ingredients.

Not nearly as "chewy" as the color suggests. Light enough to have more than one or two but not the kind of beer you could drink a lot of. As with many other beers, it is best from the tap and has a smooth but moderately bold flavor.

Bottled on 06/04... Poured a dark crimson with a white bubbly head and light lacing. Light fruitiness, apples and sweet malts in the aroma. Roasty, sweet malts and fruits in the taste. However that was about it, not a very complex barleywine. Not one to cellar.
