This was my first foray into a canned IPA, the color was not amber as advertised. The flavor was a surprising Centennial aroma and flavor, a decent IPA - well worth the $1.25 average i got from a 4 pack. Beer Advocate rates this beer higher, and 7% alcohol.

Comes out of the tap a nice hazy amber, although with minimal head. Aroma is strongly hoppy and appealing, if not complex. Flavor is mainly hoppy and just a little malty, somewhat bitter. Texture is fairly fizzy and tingly. Worth at least a try.

i don't know what "assertively balanced" means, but this ipa needs a touch more hops to fot the bill. the aroma is almost all malt, the flavor/finish a touch bitter at the end. maybe a balanced pale ale, but not enough for an IPA.
