Straight 4's all the way down. What a sorry ass stout this was. I can't believe my wife even ordered it. But we were all really at a loss of words for Riverside's brew. Clear, dark brownish black. Just a smidgen of peat, but nose is mainly neutral. Taste is metallicy, dirty and watery. Dirty water. A pretty terrible interpretation of such a friendly style.

Dark brown in color with amber-brown hues and a persistent, creamy, tan head with good lacing. Nose is all alcohol and ashes. Taste is burnt/ashtray, bitter, unpleasant flavors. No sweet, smooth oatmeal presence.
