“Portage” is the perfect name for our Extra Dry Rice Lager, as one hopes to be dry when carrying their canoe over land. Clean, crisp, and dry, with the use of Japanese Sorachi Ace hops gives the beer traditional rice lager characteristics. The amazing thing about this beer is how after you take a sip, your mouth feels like beer never touched your tongue. Better take another sip to make sure.

Lightly unfiltered, light golden-yellow colour with a big frothy-foamy white head, good stay and some soapy-foamy lacing left. The hops herbalness blended with the rice base gives this one apple notes. The apples continue in the taste, milder, but nicely balanced. Kind of Granny Smith. The mouthfeel is on the thicker side, but the hops help cut this in the end. Gets hazier, less filtered by the last pour. Actually, quite a nice lager that I did not expect much from, but getting more apples hints than rice.
