" Schwarzes Geheimnis ". Zutaten : Wasser, Gerstenmalz ( Steffi, Caramünch, Pale Chocolate, Dark Chocolate ), Weizenmalz, geröstete Gerste, Hopfen ( Hallertauer Opal, Mandarina ), Hefe.

Black with slow settling lasting brown foam head. Chocolate aroma, light bitter coffee in taste, chocolate notes. Warm alcohol feeling, a beer with a slow appearing kick to it. Nice. (Katwijk 201708)

Rerate 13.04.2022: 660 ml bottle, bought in Denmark. ABV is 10.0%. Pitch black colour, large to moderate brown head. Full score on appearance! I'm also upping the mouthfeel and overall score. Otherwise as first sample. Original rating: Shared bottle at local tasting. Black colour, low tan head. Pleasant aroma of dark malts, black bread, hints of leather, liquorice and dark dried fruits. medium sweet flavour with roasty notes, coffee, dark chocolate and molasses, hints of liquorice. Bought a large bottle in Denmark recently, might rferate soon.

660 ml capped bottle, Bbf 13/11/2015. Poured in a Pokal an unfiltered and completely opaque black, more black is unthinkable, coloured I S with a one finger creamy, fine, dense and tan foamy head that had a very long retention and tons of micro bubbles. Low carbonation. Good lacing. The aroma is powerful roasted malts, coffee beans, dark chocolate and vegetables, green olives. The flavour is rich, intense roasted malts, a dark-bitter chocolate mountain, coffeish notes, fruity, green apples, plums, dark berries and spicy, licorice, vanilla. The mouthfeel is creamy, thick, smooth and sweety. The texture is oily. This full bodied Imperial Stout has a lingering roasted malts and bitter finish. A very nice discover, an inviting nose,an amazing palate. This Imperial Stout could be "the" judicious choice for a tasting at the fireplace during the long autumnal evenings.
