Golden blonde, nice looking with her big white creamy head, but a deception overall...Too sweet for the style,Bohemian Czech pilsener. There is no floral and dryness notes in this offering...From a taste package i won't definitely single out this one for purchase.

Well I've enjoyed the other Rickard's products over the years, this one was a fail. Very bland and really annoyed the roof of my mouth. I suppose if there was one good thing about it, I'm not a big fan of the sweeter German style of Pilsner, and because this is a dumbed down version, you don't notice that annoying brown sugar taste as much.

The beer poured a translucent gold colour with a white head that disappeared quickly. The aroma is grainy malt, some metallic to9nes, and a weak floaral bouquet. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with medium carbonation. The flavour is grainy with some sour and acidic tones. A pretty decent macro.

It has been known for years that Labatt and Molson have been duelling throughout Canada with their 'Premium' beer lines. Alexander Keith's for Labatt's and Rickard's for Molson. I tend to prefer the Rickard's beers. Colour - medium gold, off-white head. Aroma - stale grain, some hops. Mouthfeel - thin to medium. Flavour - grainy. Overall - decent.

Was pretty surprise to see this one in their new Rickard's sampler 12-pack for this summer. Had it from the bottle the other day, and really liked it. I guess I was expecting a cheap, typical blonde, but had some good hop. Now, rating in a glass. Pours a clean golden colour with a big white creamy-frothy head that disappears very slowly and leaves nice lacing. Wow, does not look and taste the same beer I had before. Corn smell, corn and alcohol taste and no more hop. What happened ?? I even tasted some from the bottle (as some was left) and I get that rusty (hop) taste I hate. I have one bottle left. If that one is better, I will re-rate. If not, I am sad (as I thought this was great).

Review done directly from the bottle, why you ask? Because I’m at the cabin, It’s 29 (Celsius…I think that’s 97ish to you Americans) and I sitting in a lawn chair on the deck overlooking the lake, and sweating at the very thought of standing up again to get a glass. I’ll just assume this looks like beer as I can’t see through the brown bottle. Kind of a German Nobel hop smell but not really, grainy malts with hints of grass. Not too bad so far. Taste is the same with an actual Nobel hop profile what actually surprises me. And I guess I say that loosely, I mean you can taste that it’s there but it not in your face or anything. Bread is very mild, lingering sweetness, nice light citrus. WOW!! I’m shocked I find myself enjoying this beer. I can see myself drinking this again. Screw you Keith’s and your inferior beer. UPDATE!!!! Now that I’m on the RB/BP web site I’m shocked to learn this was an actual German style Pil’s……..they actually nailed the style but in a macro kind of way.
