IN THE LOCAL VERNACULAR OF DUSSELDORF, sticke means “secret,” a nod to the experimental recipes employed by the brewers of this obscure variation on the Altbier. While the recipe for our Sticke Alt is also a secret, we can tell you that it honors the spirit of this special German style ale with its elevated noble hop profile, more pronounced bitterness, and firm malt character.

Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 8
Orange/ amber body when held up to the light. Lots of carbonation, thin off white cap that leaves some ok lace. Aromas of faint toasted malts, earthy hops, ok but faint. Mouthfeeel is a tiny bit on the sticky side, with a small carbonation bite. Flavor toasted malt upfront but the bitter hops jump in quickly and hold on through the finish. Overall a nice beer, a bit different but worth a spin.
