Light and refreshing, yet still full of flavor – this filtered wheat ale is the best of both worlds. It could be why the Great American Beer Festival, the grand daddy of all American beer judging contests, awarded Crystal Wheat Ale unprecedented back-to-back gold medals in 2006 & 2007. Recently, Crystal Wheat Ale was awarded a Gold Medal at the world's most prestigious beer judging contests, the 2008 World Beer Cup, for the world's greatest American-Style Wheat Beer. Crystal Wheat Ale was inspired by Pyramid's very first beer in 1984 (Wheaten Ale), which was the first year round wheat beer brewed in America since Prohibition. A very good wheat beer! Golden pour with a big white head. Some nice lacing around the glass. Aroma is citrus with honey and malt. Sweet and smooth taste of fruit and honey. A nice beer!

A decent wheat beer here, flavors of honey, wheat, a little banana also. I didnt really care for it at first but as it warmed a little it got better. o.k. but not great.

This brew pours a clear golden colour with an initially large fluffy white head. Lots of carbonation, great retention in the head but zero lacing. Aroma is of honey, malt and potatoes. Taste is full on the palate, semi sweet and fruity forward with soft honey and raspberries.
