This beer was brewed by four Boulder County breweries to highlight Colorado beer at the Great American Beer Festival. Bj’s Brewery, Rockies Brewing Co., Mtn. Sun Pub & Brewery and the Pumphouse produced this unique German-Style Double Altbier. By taking our award-winning 4 Alarm Copper Ale recipe and basically doubling it we created a “super-sized” Altbier. The experience is sweet with caramel-toffee maltiness and alcohol warming that draws similarities to double bock. Altimate has aged for three months letting the hops nearly provide a backbone. We hope you enjoy this co-operative brew that represents some of the best of boulder beer.
