A rich porter with smooth honey notes. Brewed with lactose for that extra silky texture. Enjoy on its own or as a dessert at the end of a decadent meal. Contains barley malt and lactose. Taste: As with the aroma, chocolate will come through first and foremost – this time a creamy white chocolate. Balancing this is a suggestion of delicate coffee with a decadent hint of raspberry and blackcurrant. Appearance: Jet-black with a crema-like head. Nose: The aroma of smooth milk chocolate will pour out of the bottle when opened, quickly followed by both honey and blackcurrant jam. Malts: Pale malt, Munich malt, Cara pale, Crystal 50, Crystal 150, Crystal 200, Carafa type 2 special, Chocolate malt, Lactose Hops: Magnum, Goldings Translation: Black Gold OG 20° ; FG 6° ; IBU 45

Bottle at Slackwater SLC. Pours dark brown with a small tan head, light lacing. Dark malts, mild metallicc, chocolate, coffee and vanilla. Tasty. How could I pass up a new country tick! But worth it.

Sample on tap at What’s Brewing Beer Festival, Stavanger. Black colour, lasting tan head. Roasty aroma, a bit ashy. Fairly sweet flavour, roasty, molasses, liquorice, lactose.

Black coloured with decent carbonation coming up the middle. The head is light mocha in colour with good retention, but the lacing is slim to none. A nutty nose with some chocolate notes, roasted malts, grassy hops and hints of cherries. The taste is really not sweet, which I was expecting. The hops kills the sweetness, so roasted malt start with a hoppy finish. It is good, but not representing the dessert, nor chocolate talked about in the description. Lactose, what lactose? Yep, a good hoppier porter that goes down nicely.

The beer pours a solid black colour with a half inch creamy brown head. Not a lot of lacing. The aroma is roasted malt, dark chocolate, and plums. The mouthfeel is medium bodied, slightly creamy, with average carbonation. The flavour is roasted malt, milk chocolate, and a weak fruity sweetness. An interesting beer with a pleasant and interesting flavour.
