A classic British Nut Brown, Bootleg is unusually soft for an American version. This beer is flat-out drinkable, but still possesses the complexity in malt layers you would expect from Pike Brewing Co.

A new one for me, this one. Interesting brownish/bronze color, with a milky-white head. Subtle aroma - nutty, very soft. Same goes for the taste. Quite malty and nutty, with enough hints of hops to let you know they are there, but no further (quite to style). Not sure if this would fall into the American or British Brown Ale category (and, if the later, Northern or Southern). However it would be classified, it's much more interesting than many other Pike ales I've had recently. Recommended. //TB
