Draught. Colour – Coca-cola colour, thin bubbly head, decent lacing. Aroma – roasted malt, coffee, earthy hops, and a hint of burnt wood. Mouthfeel – medium bodied, crisp, and well carbonated. Flavour – cold coffee, nutty malt, and a bitter finish. A good Canadian Schwarz!

The beer pours a transparent coca-cola colour with a generous bubbly brown head, roughly 3cm thick. The aroma is roasted malt, coffee, herbal hops, and grass. The mouthfeel is thin to medium bodied, very crisp, with average carbonation. The flavour is coffee and chocolate

473ml can from LCBO (aka Bonfire Black Lager). Pours a fairly large foamy tan head but doesn't stay very long. Lacing is ok. Has a deep, dark amber appearance. Aromas of roasted barley malts, notes of coffee and cocoa. Flavours are mostly coffee and nutty, some notes of resin and earthy hops. A little bit of chocolate hints in the finish but quite faint. Medium bodied mouthfeel.

Sampled at the 2014 Winterbrewed Craft Beer Festival on Valentines’ Day. Poured a cola-looking colour with a beige head. Banana nose wheat aromas like a Hefeweizen with its yeast. Wet mouthfeel with some decent body. The flavours are banana wheat with a little sourness and a quick finish. A pretty good lager that seems like a dark Hefeweizen with a watery feel to have it go down easily.
