Brewed with 2 row caramel and euro-pils malts to create a rich amber color and medium body. Chinook hops from the Pacific Northwest provide fragrant hop aroma and are balanced with Columbus and German Perle hops in the finish to create a flavor that is unique to Allegheny Pale Ale.

The pale ale is a coppery amber in color, with a nice white head. A steady stream of bubbles provides sustenance for the head. The aroma is grainy and hoppy but not abundantly so. An interesting divergence from Penn's German line-up. The taste is malty, with caramel later on, the ale is slow to generate a hop profile. When it does emerge, the hops have an earthy citrus flavor that doesn't stand out. The mouthfeel is smooth, more malty than hoppy.
