This is STOUT beer, not for the meek! Hickory Stick Stout is a whole- lot-a beer full of malt. English pale and crystal malts start this beer quickly followed by big time chocolate and black patent malts. Tons of Cascade hops go into Hickory Stick Stout to round out the malt character. Hickory Stick Stout is a very robust stout, bursting with flavor!

Strong aroma is smoky and little powdery with a hint of roast malt. It pours a dark-chocolate brown that lets daylight through only at the very edges, and has a fluffy, persistent, pale tan head. Flavor is mainly like burnt wood with just a little bit of coffee and tiny hints of molasses and unsweet chocolate. Texture seems just an itty bit on the thin side, but it is fairly fizzy and still manages to satisfy. Nothing great, but worth a try.

Black, but not opaque. The head is a light khaki that takes a while to fade. The aroma is surprisingly hoppy, some sort of c-hop dominant. Good coffee and dark chocolate. Good mix of fresh hop flavor and roasty malt flavors. Yum.

Pours with a black body with red tinting topped by a thick head and a good amount of lacing. It’s slightly sweet and malty, yet bitter, hoppy and slightly roasty. Full bodied, slightly dry and smooth.

Pitch black appearance with a beige head. The flavor was loads and loads of coffee with some dark chocolate in the background. The aftertaste was very dry. Sampled from a coffee pot at the Clarion.
