Poured out a ginger-ale coloured brew. Couldn't detect much aroma. Taste was grainy/biscuity...very smooth and pleasant enough, but not terribly exciting. Definitely NOT swill though!

I'm not convinced that anybody in North America knows the art of creating a good Bohemian Pilsener. This isn't it. It's a decent beer, with it's clear golden pour, it's subtle hoppish tones over top a grainy malt base, and a clean crisp taste that doesn't offend. But it's got a long way to go to be served in central Europe!

    680ml bottle
    5.0% ABV
Milton LCBO Outlet #1 (Milton, Ontario, Canada)
    July 5, 2008
The beer poured a translucent orange-hued gold with a 2cm white bubbly head that stuck around a while. The aroma was primarily grainy malt with a little hoppish hint. The mouthfeel was medium bodied, and mildy carbonated. The flavour was a nice balance between the malt and a hoppy finish. A decent beer.

Second Old Credit brew rated tonight. Pours a lighter-than-average gold colour with a smaller foamy white head. A bit of lacing left, but not much other than that. Scent of a dry pilsner, not bad. Slightly dry mouthfeel that is watery, with a certain thickness. Sweet tasting with the hop that sticks in the aftertaste. Not a bad beer, and a decent Canadian pilsner-style. Just a bit weird on the mouthfeel.

Man I love this beer ever since I lived around the corner from the brewery, beautiful colour nice aroma and a mild to to powerful aftertaste. And a hint around october to around christmas they offer a great honey lager that is great.

Revisting this beer after a not so spectacular bottle some years ago. Sampled fresh from the brewery, this brew has many subtle tastes that drop out in the bottle if it is shelved too long. It is these poorly handled bottles I must have gotten in previous tastings and if this brewer wants to continue to distribute through LCBO he should date code and set an expiry date on the package. The beer pours a light clear gold with a modest frothy 1 finger cap which laces modestly. Aromas are light and subtle...sweet carapils malts and light herbal Tettnang hopping are present. Fair malt spine, light body and rounded mellow character. Sandy/grainy mouth feel. Flavor profile is decent enough: sweet carapils malts up front are joined by a nice hoppy balance of unmistakable Slalter herbal woodyness and light bittering. Finish is clean slightly wet with pleasant bready after tastes. This is a German Pilsner in the Canadian Micro malt-forward style. Far better than Maco lagers in quality for price and very drinkable. However this is one that has to quaffed in fresh condition....take it from the brewery store to be sure or get it on tap locally.
