Hazy dark copper or maybe a dark burnt orange, no real cap of note just a thin long lasting skiff. I love the color of this brew just to bad it has no good cap. There is a very noticeable alcohol sent for only a 5% beer (or 50% as noted on this sites description, what fool did that fawk up cough cough beercronic ) lots of sweet woody malts and unidentifiable spice. Not enjoying this mouth feel soft and thin. First sip seemed very watered down, taste is bitter but doesn’t seem to have any flavor how is this possible. More flavors are starting to come out now that it’s warmer. Alcohol can be tasted but why its only 5%, wood and lots of earth, very mild spice is notable but can’t identify it I want to say cinnamon but I know that’s not it. Why is this making my stomach feel so warm, the beer seems over all very sweet and has a cherry tasting finish. I’m not going to lie I’m not enjoying this brew and I’m not sure why I’m not enjoying it, its just very disappointing but tasty (how is that possible) I guess I’m just not in the mode for this beer. These marks seem way to low except for the mouth feel it is brutal.

Excellent beer. Nice clear mahogany brew (I've refrained from dumping in the sediment at this point, but I will add it in later) that produced a dissapointing small tan crown that lives on as a ring only with very little spotty lacing. The aroma is just awsome. Orangy citrus, raisins, caramelly malts are the biggest contributors but cherries, licorice and pine (early on) exist as well. There is a powderiness to the aroma, but I really don't care. Taste is quite good as well with fruity citrus hops, candy of some sort (it's just some unknown sweetness, really), raisins, slight caramel, noticable and lasting mild to medium strengthed bitterness, pine and malts everywhere. Totally complex for aroma and taste. Mouthfeel is really good as it changes thoughout the sip. Adequate carbonation, smooth and nice lasting bitterness. One of the best and unique beers that I've had in a long time without having over-the-top added ingredients that dominate or give the beer a signature obvious flavour or aroma. Highly drinkable due to the lack of overpowering spices, which I had expected as this is a seasonal beer but was very glad to not find.
