Poured from a bottle with a head that was thin. The aroma was nice with a nice malty chocolate with hints of toasted malts. The flavor was a little weak for an impy. It had the chocolate, toasted malt flavor you would expect. This is one is ok and not going to blow your doors off.

Bottled (Thanks heemer77!). Pitch black colour, mediumsized brown creamy head. Lacing. Aroma is roasted malts, some smoked wood, coffee and dark dry fruits. Flavour is very much the same with very toffeeish hints. Very roasted and smoked aftertaste. Also some slight salted licorace. Really lovely.

This beer pours black with a small off white head and mild lacing. The aroma is chocolate, roasted malts, and coffee. The mouthfeel is medium, but light for an impy stout. The flavor is mellow, sweet, and roasty. This is weaker than most imperial stouts, but it is still a great beer. It would be ideal to introduce a stout lover to imperial stouts.

This is not an Imperial Stout. This is a Foreign Extra Stout/Irish Extra Stout, although more of the scaled down Imperial version, rather than the bigger Irish type. Chocolately and roasty, slightly minerally, mild earthy hops, a bit watery for a big beer, but drinkable. A good Extra Stout, but this is no Imperial.

Bottle purchased in Omaha. Poured a black color with a great head and excellent lacing for an impy stout. The aroma was coffee first and chocolate second. Flavor was coffee, chocolate, licorice, some dark fruits, finishing with a nice touch of hops. The mouthfeel was a little thin and uninspiring, but overall this was a nice beer.

From a bottle. Pours an opaque brown with a tan head. Aroma of coffee and chocolate and malts. Flavor is average. Chocolate and cofee undertones. No alcohol flavor to speak of. An ok impy stout, but there are a lot of better ones out there.

Pours a very dark brown, nearly black, with a one finger dense head that settles slowly to a soapy cap. The subsequent lacing is sticky and fairlty thick. Smell; very roasty, with dark earthy malts and coffee and mild hints of chocolate. There's also some hints of cola in the aroma, with some touches of hops. Taste; the roasted malts and coffee flavors are very dominant in the flavor profile as it was in the aroma. The earthiness is present as well, along with a bit of bitter hops, followed by a little sweet chocolate. Mouthfeel/Drinkability; on the first couple of sips (when this was wtill a bit to cool) it seemed a little thin, but once this started to warm the mouthfeel seemed to thicken a bit. Drinkability is pretty good. This may not be a mind blowing example of an Imperial Stout, but it's a very solid effort by Odell, and I hope they continue to break out some new beers.

12 oz bottle. Pours a dark brown with a fine creamy tan head that quickly diminishes and leaves a spotty lacing.
The aroma is wet leather with a little roasted chocolate, coffee, tobacco and anise and a little bitterness.
The flavor is sweet chocolate and some anise leading to a slightly metallic and sour bitterness. The mouthfeel is medium with creamy carbonation.
Overall, a decent but not very exciting imperial stout. I liked this a lot better on draught - it seemed much more flavorful and complex.
