STORY PAPA SILENUS IS A MAN WISE ENOUGH TO ADVISE THE GREEK WINE GOD DIONYSOS. SADLY DIONYSOS NEVER LISTENED, STICKING EXCLUSIVELY TO WINE. PAPA SILENUS KNEW BETTER, AND EVENTUALLY EMBRACED THE RAPTURE OF HOPS. PAPA SILENUS IS A PROPHET - YOU SHOULD LISTEN. DESCRIPTION PAPA SILENUS IS A DOUBLE IPA WITH ENORMOUS HOP CHARACTER AND A DRY FINISH. THE HOP BLEND USED IN THE KETTLE CREATES FIRM BITTERNESS AND ENORMOUS TROPICAL/CITRUS NOTES. SIMCOE AND AMARILLO REAPPEAR IN THE DRY HOP, ALONG WITH A HEAVY-HANDED DOSE OF COMET TO CREATE A DEEPLY RESINOUS AROMA AND FLAVOR.

    Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 8

12 oz can. Pours very hazy dark gold with a medium frothy white head that retains fairly well and laces the glass some.

The aroma is some sweet fruit with lots of green resiny hops.

The flavor is sweet fruit and bready malts with a lot of peppery green resiny hops with a little onion. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with low carbonation.

Overall, a nice DIPA, but would be better with more fruit and less onion.
