Pours a rich, opaque coffee-sable with a very thick tan head - and fizzes quite a bit, so have a towel handy! Smoky malt aroma has overtones of miso and woody, dusty hops. Smoky flavor has hoppy, malty, licorice and molasses notes, a bit sweet but far from cloying. Firm, oily, viscous texture is not too fizzy but leaves a nice woody, smoky finish. Maybe not perfect, but probably fit for royalty.
