Nickel Brook Berliner Weisse is our version of the refreshing, crisp, light and sour style of wheat beer found traditionally in Berlin, Germany. The distinct sour flavour is a result of a natural by-product of lactobacillus which occurs during a sour mash process. We then ferment with traditional German Weizen yeast, resulting in this truly exceptional drinking experience. Enjoy!

Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7
Single bottle from the LCBO, written 3.8% ABV. on it. Pours a light golden colour with heavy carbonation and a fizzy head that disappears very quickly, leaving nothing. Looks more like pop to me (light ginger ale). Very mild aromas of lemon and yeast. The taste is rather sour with the wheat being watery and the yeast adding some tart in the finish. Becomes cloudy at the last pour. Refreshing and easy to drink with the low alcohol. Good for the style. Not one of my favorite though.

Pours a huge foamy bubbly white head but doesn't stick around very long. Has a cloudy straw/golden coloured appearance. Aromas of mild spices, wheats and light citrus/lemony notes. Flavours are fairly sour, some lemon tart notes, light citrus hops, spices but quite mild. A bit of yeast mainly in the finish. Fairly excessive carbonation. Tingling and astringent mouthfeel. Good retention. Pretty good and the sourness is not too offensive. The 750ml bottle is more than enough though.
