Nice pour and carbonation, a very nice light red.Lots of aroma of cask oak in the aroma. I am picking up some nice oak notes , and some bourbon hints .The bottle i picked up was a 2013 vintage, and it has aged nicely.Good brew all around. Don't miss this one.

Pours a beautiful clear chestnut with a thick, fluffy, and rather persistent ivory head. Aroma is quite hoppy and fruity, as much apple and pear as citrus, sweeter than most IPAs I have sampled. Oak and bourbon hints come out in the hoppy, lively flavor, as well as a hint of caramel; fruit notes are not as prominent as in the aroma. Texture is smooth and creamy, yet fairly fizzy, leaving a nice hoppy and woody finish. Get your Hatter on!

Amber-orange pour with a decent white head. An initial burst of citrus hops in the aroma fades into more earthy tones with a touch of oak and vanilla. Medium bitterness but with plenty of sweetness showing through due to the strong malt backbone and oak aging. Nice idea but I feel the oak aging takes away from the vibrancy of the hops.

The hops were much more assertive in this Hatter than I recall from the original. Big and fruity with a juicy citrus and firm evergreen angle. Clear copper body that sparkles along with a huge frothy white head. Bitter and mildly sweet with a dry woody quality. The oak is extremely subtle and allows for the massive hop profile to work it's magic.

always liked NH .. Pours a deep gold .. . medium foam .. glue lacing .. . oak and syrup mainly .. . smooth and easy to drink .. . slightly simplified but enjoyable . .. . If you're in a war, instead of throwing a hand grenade at the enemy, throw one of those small pumpkins. Maybe it'll make everyone think how stupid war is, and while they are thinking, you can throw a real grenade at them..

Instantaneous oak and bourbon aromas hitting me in the face. Nice in the fact that the hops are so tamed. No worries about wild hops flying out against you-extremely tame in every way. clear copper with a modest sized head. taste is semi sweet from the bourbon, but finishes sligtly bitter.

On-tap at the New Holland Brewpb. Pours an amber/orange color with a thin off-white head that is slow to fade to a thin ring that left behind lots of sticky lacing. Smell; there were mild hints of grapefruit and touches of pine, but for the most part the oak smells stood out a lot. Taste; man did the oak flavros stand out in this one. At first it was a bit hard to pick out any othe flavors, but I let it sit for a while and the grapefruit hops made an appearance, with a nice malt backbone. The oak aging made the bitterness and the citric flavors more subdued than the normal Mad Hatter, and made for a much smoother drink. Mouthfeel was medium bodied, and just a little bit oily.
