This dark and rich rye stout features an aroma of cappuccino, dark chocolate, mild hazelnut and a faint amount of herbal hop character. The taste is some malt sweetness at the beginning, followed by notes of chocolate covered coffee beans which then leads in to a dry roast finish with a touch of spice from both the rye malt. This beer is more accessible than one would think looking at the dark colour, as the dry roast and spice finish does not linger for too long.

Had this one at the Ottawa brewpub April 1, 2019. Cola-looking brew with a creamish beige head and wavy lacing. Roasted malt nose with the rye adding some fruity notes, with chocolate hints. The taste shows nice fruitiness with a blend of roastiness, chocolate and mild dry finish. More of the roasted, chocolate malts and hops, the the rye, but a nice different beer.
