Beer on tap at the Underground called "Mikkeller American Porter" but i asume its this one since all the stats line up. Black brown body, long lasting tan cap. First sniff is nothing but coffee. First sip is chocolate with a coffee finish. Back to the aroma..... almost milk chocolate but not really plus coffee that is all. Taste is close to same. I’m enjoying the fact that this beer dosn’t seem to have any gimmik to it, no fancy aging, no random ingrediant, its just a porter. Very easy to drink, goes down scarey fast. Crap my food has arived and all I smell now is clam chowder. Sweet taste, mild ash in finsh, I will say prunes. Good beer the 8% is completly hidden, goes down fast. The very simple noncomplex tatse is what I like best about this beer.

whoa! some band for your buck in what i had thought was an overpriced porter. one of the best i;ve had, though, imperial or not. intense roast in the nose and flavor...dry, bitter coffee, chocolate, a hint of smoke and hops. awesome brew!

Pours a deep, warm sable just a hair above black with a very thick and rather persistent tan head. Strong, smoky aroma has notes of roast coffee, licorice and semi-sweet chocolate. Bold flavor has a smoky overtone and includes coffee, licorice and chocolate tones plus a bitter hoppy note and more than a hint of sweetness. Full-bodied texture is smooth and quite fizzy, leaving a smoky, chocolaty finish. If this is not the best porter I have ever had, it is certainly one of the best. Keep up the good work, Mikkeller!
