This beer is a part of a Single Hop IPA series by Mikkeller. We created this series to showcase hop varieties on their own. This gives the consumer the possibility of smelling and tasting the unique characteristics of each variety and hopefully helping to educate people about the wonderful world of hops. For each beer, the single hop variety was used in the same weight for bittering, aroma and flavor and for dry hopping. All 19 varieties of single hop beers in this series were brewed the same week and with malts from the same batches and the same yeast and fermentation temperatures. This is done to better compare the characteristics of the different hop varieties.

this one was a bit too mellow for me. drank it 2nd of 9. ranked it 9th. slightly fruity and spicy in the aroma and flavor, but both were subdued. ok, but the most boring of the night. 51 ibu.

Sampled on 7/23/2011. This India Pale ale pours a medium orange gold color from a 33cl bottle. Small to medium sized white foamy head, with good retention and nice lacing. The aroma is malt, cereal, fruity, sweet and herbal. A medium bodied India Pale Ale. The malts are cereal, fruity and sweet. The hops are herbal and citrusy. Good carbonation. Medium bitterness, the bitterness is fairly sharp and crisp, but fades rather quickly. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and crisp. Aftertaste is slightly bitter.
