This Bock from Mikkeller is called Frelser. Means Savior in Danish. The name is a subtle reference to all Bocks Mother: Salvator. Originally the monks brewed Salvator because they needed a very strong and rich beer during Lent. Do not drink this beer instead of a meal, it contains 11% alcohol.

Deep reddish brown and with a big beige head which leave quite a bit of lacing. Aroma of tobacco, prune and roasted malt. Flavour is fruity, smoke, breaded and roasted malts, spicy yeast, some sweetness and a hoppy finish. Smooth full sticky mouthfeel. Alcohol is present but wouldn't think it was 11%. Quality stuff.

From the Hootenanny. Brown pour, short head, little lacing. Big malty sweet but alcohol aroma, brown sugar, ripe rich fruits, earthy hoppiness. Big flavors, sweet malts, alcohol, light earthy hops, more fruits. Big ass beer for sure.

Big brown wine bottle found at the LCBO. Pours a cola colour with red highlights. The beige head is huge, has great retention and creates good thick lace. Loads of dark fruits in the aromas with anise and other grassy plants. Mild warming oily mouthfeel, but quite surprised how no burning is felt. The roasted malts are overpowered by licorice and the hop makes a greater appearance, creating some nice bitterness in the finish. This Trippelbock has great drinkability for 11% ABV and is well-worth trying.

I tried this beer on April 13, 2012 after purchasing from the Royal Bank Plaza LOCBO outlet in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The beer poured a sold dark brown colour with a long lasting foamy dark tan coloured head. Aroma was dark fruit, yeast, roasted malt, and brown sugar. The mouthfeel was full-bodied, and creamy. The flavour had molasses, brown sugar, roast, and a definite wood flavour to it. Very enjoyable. -

I had this from the tap at Mikkeller Bar in Copenhagen, DK. This beer was a dopplebock on STEROIDS! It was big, sweet, and bready. I liked it but it was a "one-and-done" beer for me. I might have it again if it is on draft in the future.

yaw control!! .. . thanks tom .. . Pours a deep maple .. light foam, good lacing .. . molasses, syrup, cocoa, and reduced brandy .. . pretty good but confusing .. . to thin to be a triple, even pushing it by being a doppel .. . . . Great heavens! It's one of those nude female fire stations! I'd always be second place to some kitten stuck in a tree. lets go!

Draught@CPH BeerFest2010. Deep ruby red colour, no head. Aroma is alcohol, wood, quite strong on sweet, but also bready, malts. Flavour is rather malty, has a bunch of alcohol in it, but also some nice hoppyness balancing it up.

called a doppel and a triple bock. not like any doppel i've had. less bready, more extreme caramel, broen sugar, alcohol, sweet fruity. pretty good, but also pretty in your face.
