This imperial Oatmeal stout is brewed with one of the world’s most expensive coffees, made from droppings of weasel-like civet cats. The fussy Southeast Asian animals only eat the best and ripest coffee berries. Enzymes in their digestive system help to break down the bean. Workers collect the bean-containing droppings for Civet or Weasel Coffee. The exceedingly rare Civet Coffee has a strong taste and an even stronger aroma

"THIS BEER TASTES LIKE...!" (Sorry, had to get that out of the way :-) ). Thick dark brown head. Equally thick and very dark black body. Aroma reminds me of fish sticks that have cooked in the oven on a long side and have a bit of oil on the pan. Obscure, I know, but the first thing that came to mind. Flavor is absolutely out of this world! Lots of smoky flavors with strong coffee and bitter chocolate. Perhaps a bit of toasted coconut in there too. Coffee bitterness lingers and becomes more pronounced on in the aftertaste and on the palate. This has to be one of the most unique beers I’ve ever had. If you can get passed the ingredient it’s best known for you may very well enjoy this one!!

Bottle from Vinmonopolet. Pours black with a small light brown head. Aroma of roasted malt with delicious coffee and dark chocolate. Some sweetness balanced by a good bitterness. Very smooth. Long lasting (dry) aromatic finish. Delicious Imperial Stout!

Medium sized brown head, excellent retention with a fair lace. An almost black colored brew. Roasty, coffee coated nose with notes of berries and ash. Med/full body, oily and a bit much on the carbonation, a hint chalky. Big ass roast and coffee flavors, bitter sweet chocolate notes of malt balls and caramel too boot. Looooooong roasty finish. Nice but not as much finesse in this one compared to the breakfast. Might age well? Bottle procured @statelineliquors. Props due for Robert who keeps the good brews coming in for us friggin hicks in ceciltucky county. Thanks bro!

Courtesy of gunhaver. Pours deep dark brown to almost black with brown edges and thin mocha head. It has a timid aroma that seems to be hiding away in my glass and giving just glimpses of roasted malts, molasses and chocolate malts. It quickly becomes impossible to smell anything out of this beer. The taste is no where near timid with rich sweet maltiness, velvety chocolate and molasses all coming together nicely. Nearing midway caramel shows up with solid coffee notes in tow to join in with the chocolate, roasted malts and molasses. The roasty malts and coffee join forces to help dry the flavor out into the finish and after taste. Solid flavor and disappointing aroma.

Bottle thanks to ygtbsm94: Poured a deep black with a light brown head. Aroma is a weird mixture grass, coffee, and chocolate. Taste is heavy on the coffee, hints of baker chocolate, light alcohol burn in the finish.

Pours black with thin, lasting head. Aroma is coffee, vanilla, tobacco with a flavor profile to match. Enjoyable interplay between sweet and bitter. Medium-to-full body with vigorous carbonation. A fine example by style. A year ago, it would have probably scored some tens with me, but I live in the land of Prairie Artisan Ales and that means this beer competes with Bomb! and Noir and Vanilla Noir. Against those it is an 8.

Diggity damn. I hadn't had a Impy Stout this good in a long time. Thanks to Chris for sharing this with me. Big, deep ass black, sludgy, motor oil texture. Nose is insane. Smokey, burned to shit everything. Taste is intense. Bitterness galore but underlying sweetness that you can't ignore. Thanks Chris!

Great beer aroma, strong beer smells with chocolate, coffee and molasses. Thick creamy head that looks almost black but settles out a nice dark tan. The beer is nearly black. Mouthfeel is milkshake smooth and just about as thick. Flavor is great, right up there with the best. I wasn't sure I wanted to pick this up due to cost and I probably won't again, but it was still a good one to try, the coffee comes from rat shit for Christ sakes, how could I not buy it?

BAM! Pours thick and black, with a very low ringlet of brown head. Aroma has licorice. Mouthfeel is huge, smooth, tons of coffee espresso, chocolate, vanilla. Nice nice nice.
