This is Midnight Sun’s first beer brewed with hop extract. We choose Amarillo for its floral, tropical and citrus properties. OB8 was also dry-hopped with Bravo hops for aroma to complement the beer’s hop flavor and bitterness.

Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 8 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 8
Tasted on tap at the 12th Bistro Double IPA Festival on 2/11/2011. This Imperial India Pale Ale pours a medium orange gold color from the tap. Small to medium sized white foamy head. The aroma is fruity and sweet, herbal and citrusy. A medium bodied Imperial IPA. The malts are fruity and sweet, with a touch of orange and citrus. The hops are herbal and citrusy. A medium bitter IPA. Decent carbonation. Nice dry bitterness throughout. Good balance between the sweetness and the hops. Nice drier IPA. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean, crisp and dry. Aftertaste is slightly bitter.
