Nice reddish brown color with slightly colored foam head that stays on the glass. Some nice aromas and spurs of toffee, fruit, dark candi sugar, bit sweet. Medium-high carbonation and 8%. Alcohol is present after drinking.

A dark mahogany colored beer. Big frothy textured, off white hear rises above. Some hang time. Really impressive lacing of loads of film and thick cap/ringlet. A laid back nose of caramel malt and dark tart fruit. The same in the tasting, throwing in some pepper. Well carbonated bubbles tickle the palate with a light crisp drink

I thought I had reviewed this one already, but apparently not. I really enjoy the products from this brewery, despite the steep prices i often run into. Smells very yeasty, with some hints of alcohol. Tastes of chocolate, raisins, some (very) light spices. Dark, chocolate colored, with a tan, sudsy head that bubbles up and settles back down rather quickly. Very tinglingly mouthfeel. A good beer, but not worth the price; apparently, I was charged too much for it anyway.

This one pours a rich, almost opaque chocolaty brown. Aroma is strong and malty and just a touch sweet. Flavor is rich, remarkably sweet but not cloying, strongly malty with hints of fruit and butterscotch and a nutty trace. There is just a tiny hit of hop bitterness. Very smooth and pleasant to sip.

This beer was nice. It had a thinner mouthfeel than a traditional Belgium beer, however, it was tasty nonetheless. I would also note that the carbonation in the beer was more like what you would find in a soda than in a beer. It was good.

This beer pours a dark, yet translucent copper colour with a little bit of noticeable sediment floating around- no problemo however. Plenty of carbonation- nice frothy whip cram like vanilla coloured head. Lacing is decent and is hesitant to disperse. Aroma is like of grapenuts and sort of alcoholy/grainy like notes. Soft toffee and cinnamon. Taste is very light, lighter then i expected in fact. Carmel apples, white chocolate, doughnuts and some roasted java.

Very smooth beer. Cherry and malty in flavor, with enough alcohol to warm the belly. I found this to be very easy to drink and am looking forward to having it again soon.

Smooth like butter! McChouffe is a wonderful Belgian brown ale with the character of a powerful Scottish ale to boot. A nice low hop flavor is surrounded by tasting notes of caramel, chewy nougat, yeast and toffee. There is a minor spice like quality on the buds that probably comes from the East Kent Golding and Saaz hops. A nice alcoholic scent and bitey aftertaste cap off this medium brownish elixir with the strong rocky tan head that melts into a nice ring of lace after the pour. Wow! That gnome on the label sure knows how to brew!
