Taps clear cherrywood with a nice buff head. Aroma gives roast malt, caramel, bread, subtle woody hop tones. Flavor adds caramel, kandi, roast malt, bread and woody hops. Texture features fair smooth body and peppy fizz. Get some hair of the bear.

This beer was no joke. My 2nd time with Mammoth and the first time I had their beer, the uniqueness of the beer still rngs in my memory banks (the IPA395). So this time, the beer was even better and while not as unique, it still kicked ass. I like to think the German's know a thing or two about dopplebock's. Apparently someone in Mammoth Lakes knows a think or two also.
The aroma is stuffed with caramelly-sweet malts, chocolate malt balls with just enough leather and raisins to be amazing. Just insanely decadent. As far as tasting, this dopplebock zero's in on the malts and it buries any hops way down deep. I got zero hops in this. Just a lot of cranked up malts, toffee/Tootsie Rolls, rum-soaked raisins and coffee..all melding together. My BevMo is carrying this for $5.99 a bomber. That is a steal, and I'm going back to get plenty more. -

Sampled on 3/5/2010. This dopplebock pours dark amber copper color from a 22oz bottle. Medium to small sized white foamy head. The aroma is caramel, bready and sweet. A medium bodied dopplebock. The malts are caramel and bready. The hops are earthy and floral. Nice carbonation. Very drinkable. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly sweet.

9%...pretty big. this had all the qualities we were looking for...not to mention a thick fluffy head that never went away. Ever. i think it may still be there tomorrow. great malty sweet, but balanced with just the right amount of hops. great, doughy aroma and flavor. smooth as silk. very good. this brewery is starting to impress me...

A copper color with a decent sized head. The aroma is peanut butter, chocolate, and caramel. It smells like a Resse cup I swear. The flavor is full of chocolate, some malted milk balls, and caramel. This was straight up like a good dessert. Very different but also very good.
