500 ml capped bottle, as a 5.1 % ABV. Poured in a Bavarian Seidla a clear and oak-burgundy coloured Dunkel Lager with a generous two fingers light beige and pillowy foamy head that had a very long retention and tons of micro bubbles. Soft carbonation. Good lacing. The aroma is roasted and caramel malts, fruity, dark berries and a solid barnyard feeling. The flavour is caramel and toasted malts, bready, dried fruits, nuts, ashes and herbal notes. The mouthfeel is round and quite thin. The texture is watery. This light bodied Dunkel Lager has a dry malty finish. Not enough stuff in this Dunkel Lager from an idyllic village in the Fränkische Schweiz.

Fränken Bierausflug, Day#1, Brewery#1 Beer#1. Vom Faß this bier gives its best impression of a root beer float; from its deep ruby-tinged brown body to its huge foamy, frothy head. Mild roasted malt aroma with a full, sharp mouthfeel. Firm hop bitterness trumps the malty flavor, but softens in the finish.

Bottled. Amber colour, mediumsized beige head. Aroma is spices, some yeast and mild roasted notes. Flavour is roasted malts with some hints of licorice. Also some slight rubbery and yeasty notes when getting warmer. Aftertaste is mainly sweet malts and some hints of earthyness.
