Tower of London Mead is made in the traditional way from Lurgashall's renowned fermented honey and then fortified with Scotch Whisky to 20% alc/vol. {the precise blending ratio remains Lurgashall's well kept secret!.} It is of light copper color; Aromas of cognac and armagnac {?}. mingle with the smell of honey. Wooden notes not immediately recognizable as whisky; Whisky notes on palate supported by the fairly dry mead base. Honey sweetness catches up, though, in the finish mixed with a myriad of aky, spirited flavors.
