Caleb Truax fans know his mantra, “Cut No Corners.” That’s because nothing’s ever been handed to him, from being humbly raised by a single mom to modestly starting his boxing career in night clubs and casinos. Outsiders were surprised, but Caleb’s insiders were not when he scored a majority decision to claim the IBF super-middleweight championship from James DeGale in December 2017. Naturally, Caleb’s signature beer also “Cuts No Corners,” a mandarine orange flavor with notes of coconut and citrus. Like it’s namesake, 8-Count is full body with a smooth finish.

Pours barely translucent peach with a thick and lasting buff head. Aroma offers piney and mainly woody hops, zesty orange, fresh malt, a bit of funk. Flavor presents piney hops, zesty and tart orange with some grapefruit on the side, sweet mango and papaya, crisp malt, a funky hint. Texture features good smooth body and lively fizz. Down it for the count.
