brewed for the stark bier season, This is a very run of the mill dopplebock with some good attributes. The color is deep brown, and the smell of mild baby urine. The flavor is well, some, and the strenght is there, and you can drink many glasses of this withour harm but why bother wehn there are countless GREAT dopplebocks in 50 square kilometers of Munchen.

Clear brown ruby with light brown little lacing foam head. Aroma is strong caramel. Taste little caramel, bread, some toast. Lasting somewhat toasty aftertaste. (Velp 201403)

Bottle. dark reddish brown colour with off-white frothy head. Roasted malts and caramel aroma. The flavour is similar, nicely bitter and very well balanced. A nice, very drinkable doppel.

This bier is thin and almost tastless, but strong. The colour is fine, the nose (as noted) of baby piss, and little else. Ths is not the bier that made Munchen famous. LowenBrau is second up from the bottom of the Munchen bier chain, and a few bottles of this will have you thinking like a local-LowenBrau-nicht mein bier.
