This is a typical American IPA with a unique twist. We have added 2 oz. of Cascade hop plugs to each of the kegs. This technique is basically an extreme form of dry hopping that is unique to Lovejoys. The hop plugs are different from the hop pellets that we generally use in that they are whole leaf hops, not processed hop pellets. Commercial breweries are not able to hop the actual kegs for fear of the troubles it may lead to in the marketpalce. here at Lovejoys we are able to do it because of our soda style kegs and micro control that we have. The extreme hjop flavor has strong notes of citrus/grapefruit. The bitterness of the beer blanaces the strong flavor and aroma created by the Dry Hopping. All activity in the mouth makes both the high alcohol percentage and the malt character hard to perceive.
