Brewed in the spirit of Flyin Ryan Hawks, a Vermont freeskier who passed away during a competition in 2011. In celebration of Ryan's kind heart and free spirit, we put a spin on this year's recipe, adding an untracked amount of Simcoe, Amarillo and Galaxy dry hops to deliver an extremely juicy American IPA experience. First introduced as a limited, draught-only offering in Winter 2014-15, Flyin Ryan IPA (6.0% ABV, 48 IBU) is available exclusive in Survival Packs and on draught. “Flyin Ryan IPA has been a bit of a cult classic around Vermont for the past few winters,” said Jed Nelson, marketing director at Long Trail Brewing. “We can’t wait to spread this brew – and the Flyin Ryan message – to a larger audience with this year’s release.” Founded by The Hawks Family, the foundation was created to honor Ryan’s legacy. With the release of Flyin Ryan IPA, Long Trail Brewing hopes to spread the Foundation’s message. “[Flyin Ryan IPA] has the potential to make a huge contribution to our mission, ‘core values matter’ and our efforts to stimulate adventurers of all ages to reflect on the value of aligning their engagement in life and decision-making with core values that are self-generated,” said Peter Hawks, Ryan's father. Flyin Ryan IPA will be available on draught this winter and exclusively available in 12 oz. bottles in the Long Trail Survival Pack beginning in October.
