On tap at the brewpub. Pours an average size foamy tan head and has an amber coppery appearance. Some thick lacing remains. Aromas of sweet and toasty malts, hints of caramel. Flavours are mainly notes of caramel, toasted malts, barley malts, rye, earthy and resin hops. Smooth and slick mouthfeel. Average retention.

Enjoyed at the Wakefield Inn, The Heron restaurant, overlooking the MacLaren Falls. It was my first experience there. Poured a cloudy amber, almost looking like watered-down carrot juice. Off-white, creamy, fluffy head with good lacing. Refreshing fruity nose (oranges mostly), sweet malts with notes of honey and light hop. Medium-bodied, wet mouthfeel, but with a dry finish from the hop. The taste was pretty close to the aromas, but a little milder, and well-balanced between the hop and the fruitiness. Does not seem like an ESB to me, but it sure is a nice beer overall.
