Clear dark brown light brown foam head. Sweet caramel aroma, when tasted initially sweet, turning little bitter, then turning sweet again. Banana there. Not a stout, more a Dubbel. (Velp 201409)

Bottled@SBWF2007. Deep rubyish red colour, mediumsized beige head. Aroma is sugar, malts and overall very sweet. Flavour is saccharineish sweetness. I'm not a big fan of these sweet Belgian stouts...

very dark brown colour, the foam quickly reduces, aroma of milk coffee, very sweet, medium-bodied, long sugary finish - sorry, I’m not a fan of milk stouts

Sampled in Ieper, this one poured with a rather stinky skunky (ick!) aroma alongside caramel malts. Knowing all too well that the smell can be deceiving, I still went forward with an open mind. Thankfully, the beer tasted much better than the smell. The caramel malts were detected in the flavor, but brown sugar, molasses, and chocolate were all there in a complex fashion for this very nice Belgian “stout.” The head was rather weak, but the lacing average. Not a bad beer, but nothing to exert excesses over if you're not already in Belgium to get it.
