Made with 100% Canadian ingredients, O’Neill Stout is a tribute to Tip O’Neill, ‘Canada’s Babe Ruth’ and the first ever winner of the Triple Crown in 1887. A base of Barn Owl (Ontario) Pale Ale malt provides a lightly toasted malt background, while Red Shed (Alberta) Roasted Barley provides flavours of rich chocolate and freshly brewed coffee while remaining light and refreshing with a balanced bitterness. VQH Farms hops and Escarpment Labs yeast (both Southwestern Ontario!) round out the all-Canadian ingredient list.

    Clean copper, darker colour with a frothy light mocha-coloured head, decent retention and creamy-frothy lacing left. The nose shows roasted barley base, hints of coffee with with some grassiness from the hops over it. These hops give some grassy notes in the taste as well, and much dryness in the finish. Kind of refreshing for a stout, with the roasted malts not being to rich, nor sweet, and the hops blending things in the end.
