Rich Coffee and chocolate flavors dominate this opaque working class Ale. Stout’s extreme popularity among the British factory workers of the 1800’s may qualify it as the fuel for the Industrial Revolution. "By the time you get it, you’re too far out."

Enjoyed at Laurelwood's PDX outlet. It arrived almost headless and strangely also with precious little aroma. However, the glass was inviting and dark to look at and the taste was the reward. Nice dark chocolate, burnt coffee, and some malts all combined for an enjoyable flavour, which might've been further enhanced had the beer not been served at what I think was too cold a temperature.

This review is from notes I took on a trip to portland, oregon last summer This stout has some nice coffee and chocolate flavors that complement its velvety tongue feel.
