This is a full-bodied beer full of roasty malts and coffee flavors. On pour it’s a deep, opaque brown with a creamy mocha head. The nose is all fresh coffee with a touch of chocolate, sweet cream and malt. Tasting up front you get the bitterness of fresh medium roast coffee balanced with a malty sweetness. The mouthfeel is full and smooth, almost a meal in itself. The finish is a touch of hop citrus and coffee; refreshing like an iced beverage on a hot August morning.

Sampled at the brewery on 3/21/2013. This Imperial Oatmeal Stout pours a dark amber drown color from the tap. Small to medium sized white/tan foamy head. The aroma is chocolate, coffee, roasty malts. A medium to full bodied stout. The malts are roasty, chocolate and sweet. The hops are herbal and earthy. Decent carbonation. Hint of sweet chocolate at the finish. Nice fuller oatmeal mouthfeel. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly bitter.

A nice well-rounded breakfast beer. Godd balance of roasted malt, chcolate, and bittersweet coffee. Light-medium bodied and smooth on the palate, with a lasting dry coffee as=ftertaste.
